It's A Pirates Life - SYVUHS Safe & Sober Extravaganza!
Donations are needed - please help!
The Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) of Santa Ynez Valley Union High School (SYVUHS) would like to invite you as a member of our Santa Ynez Valley community to partner with us by supporting the SYVUHS graduating class of 2022 in their annual Safe and Sober Grad Nite celebration. For over 22 years, the PTSA, parents, friends and the community has come together to produce an all-night extravaganza for the graduates following their commencement. This year the event is planned for Friday, June 3, 2022 with the theme that celebrates the class and their Pirate Pride “It’s a Pirate’s Life”.
To make this event a reality, WE NEED YOUR HELP with financial assistance, merchandise, and/or gift certificates. The event includes entertainment, games, activities, food and drink, music and dancing and the PTSA Grad Nite Committee has established a budget of $24,720 to put on a spectacular event with prizes that in the past has had participation from up to 95% of the graduating class. Your assistance can come in the following forms: Monetary Contributions: The funds will be used to pay for food, entertainment, decorations and prizes: Gift Certificates/Merchandise: Big prizes will be raffled off at the end of the event. Plus, each attendee will be guaranteed at least one prize from spinning the wheel.
Your donation is tax deductible (Tax ID# 77-0278834). We would like to thank you in advance for contributing this year and everyone who contributes will be recognized at the event and in the Santa Ynez Valley News and the Santa Ynez Valley Star.

The Safe and Sober Grad Night tradition provides for the students a well-earned celebration with their classmates
before they head off into the world. For the parents and community, this event assures that the 206 graduating
seniors have an event that is safe, sober, legal, supervised and drug-free, alcohol-free and smoke-free. Every year
there are reports of graduating seniors who do not survive graduation night as a result of alcohol or other
substance abuse. The PTSA Grad Night Committee is committed to avoid this kind of tragedy does not happen in
our valley. As a community, we all have an interest in seeing these young people safely launched into adulthood to
purse their goals and contribute back to our community.
To make this event a reality, WE NEED YOUR HELP with financial assistance, merchandise, and/or gift certificates.
